Reiki training in Darlington. County Durham. We hold all of our reiki training from our home in relaxed, peaceful surroundings.
Our Reiki training sessions are intentionally kept small to create a focused, nurturing environment. Most trainings are held with just two participants, allowing for personal attention, hands on practice and deep connections. We are also happy to accept small groups of up to four for those who prefer learning in a slightly larger yet still personal setting.
Above all it is important to us that you receive individual attention and support throughout your training.
Reiki is very easily learnt. Simply requiring a commitment on your part to help yourself, family, friends and pets. Our aim is to offer enriching and transformative Reiki training that empowers every individual to heal, grow and connect with universal life energy. Our courses provide a structured and supportive path.
We are flexible regarding training dates and times. Generally we are able to schedule training to suit your requirements therefore many of our students are able to choose their own training dates rather than us setting them.
Our Reiki training in Darlington is usually held over two days. You will receive a comprehensive manual, your certificate of achievement and ongoing support.

Once we have agreed your booking there is a non refundable deposit payable immediately to secure your place. The remaining balance will be due no later than four weeks prior to your agreed training day. Upon receipt of the deposit your Reiki manual will be sent out in the post to you along with instructions for home study to give you the best possible preparation for your training. Payment is accepted by bank transfer.
All deposits and payments are non refundable.
However we do understand that in certain circumstances you may have to unavoidably cancel. In this event there may be an opportunity to reschedule your course but it will be at our discretion.

Reiki One
Shoden- Beginner Level Teachings- for self, family and friends.
Your first step on your exciting Reiki journey of personal and spiritual growth and development. Helps you to manage anxiety, stress and emotional health and improve wellbeing. There are four attunements (connections to the Reiki source) which will empower you with a lifelong link to Reiki. As part of your reiki training you will also practise meditation and learn self healing methods. Additionally you will gain an understanding of the human energy system. You will also learn the history of Reiki and the Reiki Principles.
Reiki Two
Okuden- Deeper Level Teachings- recognised as practitioner level.
Reiki level two deepens your connection and your intuition. You will learn three sacred symbols and their meanings and uses. How to send distant healing and techniques to strengthen mental and emotional healing. This course is at practitioner level. Which enables you to work professionally on others. Following the course you are asked to work with the energy for at least a month. Then you must submit case studies before being awarded your certificate.
Reiki Three/Master Teacher
Shinpiden- The Mystery Teachings of Reiki
Delve deeper into the mystery of life and your connection to it. Recognised as teacher level where you can attune and teach others. Master Teacher level empowers you with advanced healing energies. Furthermore it advances your personal and spiritual development. You will learn to teach Reiki and how to pass on those teachings and attune others.
Becoming a Reiki master is a major step in your healing process. It should not be undertaken lightly. You will experience spiritual growth and transformation. Therefore it is important that you are committed to working on your own healing path. Finally in order to lead others and assist them on their path, we need to have been through the process ourselves. Following this course, there are further requirements for approximately three months.
If you wish to take Master level with us we ask you to leave at least 6 to 12 months between completing second degree and commencing master reiki training. This will also be dependent on the number of healings that you have carried out on yourself and others within this period. Each applicant will be assessed individually.

About Reiki
Reiki is an ancient method of energy healing. It was rediscovered by Mikao Usui in Japan in the late 19th century. Anyone can learn how to use this simple, effective healing technique. Therefore no previous knowledge or training is required.
Reiki works on every level of your being. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It is a very natural, simple method that everyone can use. There are many benefits in having reiki at your fingertips. It encourages and supports a more positive personal outlook. In addition it enhances inner harmony and wellbeing.
Considerations when choosing a teacher.
If you are new to Reiki and unsure of which teacher to train with, firstly consider what you are going to be using Reiki for.
If it is primarily for self-empowerment and healing loved ones, then a Reiki Level One course that provides a good grounding in theory and practice will be perfectly adequate. Your certificate will come from your Reiki teacher and will enable you to practice Reiki on yourself and your loved ones.
If you are considering adding Reiki to your healing modalities and using Reiki professionally as a sole trader you can do this with the next level of training Reiki Level Two, provided that it is face to face training (online courses will not allow you to register with Reiki Associations at present. Your certificate will be awarded by your reiki teacher on completion of case studies and a period of self healing. This will enable you to work as a Reiki practitioner and gain insurance.
If you are planning to become a teacher and attune others to reiki you can accomplish this by taking Reiki Level Three, which is Master level. Your certificate will be awarded by your reiki teacher on completion of case studies and a period of self healing. This will enable you to work as a Reiki teacher and gain insurance.
Should you choose to train with me you can be assured that I am a fully qualified, experienced and insured Reiki master teacher and have been providing professional Reiki training courses for over 20 years. Full support is given to all students from beginner to mastership along with high quality, comprehensive training materials.
I am familiar with the National Occupational Standards for Reiki and have a good understanding of their core curriculum. I incorporate their requirements into my teaching and use them as the basis for designing and delivery of all of my training courses.
The UK Reiki Federation Guidelines state: “Those teaching Reiki should be qualified Reiki master teachers. It is recommended that anyone teaching Reiki should have used Reiki for a minimum period of twelve months, as it is our view that to teach, one should have sufficient experience of using Reiki on oneself and on others. If teaching to the National Occupational Standards then Reiki master teachers should be familiar with the ethos of NOS in general and have a working understanding of the NOS for Reiki.”
Accreditation
You do not need any special accreditation to practice Reiki as a therapist or a Reiki teacher in the UK. Reiki is still an unregulated field with individual Reiki teachers creating and certifying their own courses. With any certificate (as long as your attunements are done face to face) you will be able to get insurance and register with a Reiki Association to practice Reiki as a therapy in private practice (ie as a sole trader)
If, however, you are planning to work in the NHS or in a hospice/care home/charity and get paid a salary for providing Reiki, you would need to be registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council. This is a voluntary register for therapists who have met certain practitioner standards. These standards are quite arduous including 9 months of training, 75 documented Reiki treatments on others, 100 documented treatments on yourself, 5 practical treatment observations, an exam and assessments via an external assessor.
This level of training is often classed as Professional Practice Reiki Practitioner.
Currently there are very few jobs that pay a salary for Reiki, so realistically the majority of practitioners offering Reiki do so in the private sector, and are not CNHC registered.
I am a qualified, experienced and fully insured reiki master/ teacher, however my training courses are not currently accredited to CNHC level by choice.
